Team Denison welcomes YOU!

Enthusiasm and support are vital to running our beloved Homestead…and did we mention FUN? It’s at the top of our list! Volunteers play a crucial role in the daily operations of museums across the country. Whether its providing one hour a month or twenty, we invite you to become a part of our Team Denison. We offer a variety of roles, ranging from visitor interaction to behind-the-scenes.

Feel free to select more than one of the following:

Museum Interpreter – Conduct public tours of the 1717 Manor House. Opportunities available to learn historic crafts (including open hearth cooking) and First-Person Interpretation (Museum Role Playing)

Gift Shop – Organization and packing phone/online orders for shipping.

Gardening – Assist Gardener with planting and upkeep of the historic museum grounds.

Collections – Assist Supervisor of Collections with care, storage and record keeping of artifacts.

Administration – Miscellaneous office tasks, assembling mailings and preparing newsletters and event fliers for distribution.

Special Events – Participate in various Family-Friendly activities, ranging from crafts to storytelling.

Archaeology – Assist professional Archaeologists with Family-Friendly on site investigative digs and help put any discovered objects into historical context.

Research – Assist with research for the creation of upcoming programs, events and visitor inquiries.
