Director’s Cottage
Last June, the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center (DPNC) ended their lease of Director’s Cottage which they used it for their preschool program for nineteen years. Volunteer Michelle Denison and her three daughters who were visiting us from their home in Texas, spent a month last year living in the cottage, experiencing a New England summer. While visiting, Michelle cleaned and scrubbed the entire interior of the cottage and pointed out areas in the building that needed attention. During Michelle’s stay, the well pump failed and a new one was installed for $2,622.
Interior walls were repainted in fall and a couple of the original windows were replaced this spring. The goal is to get a new tenant in the building in 2025. The floorplan consists a large livingroom, dining room, kitchen and half-bath on main level and four bedrooms and one full bath on the second level. There is also a small utility bathroom in the walkout basement.
